Chitra Pritam, born in 1969, is an artist deeply rooted in the spiritual and artistic traditions of Pakistan. His journey began in the small village of Sanjarpur, Rahimyar Khan District. With minimal resources but a resolute spirit, he moved to Karachi to pursue his passion for painting, guided by letters from Syed Anees Shah Gilani. Facing early challenges in the metropolitan city, Pritam honed his resilience, which propelled him toward deeper artistic and spiritual exploration. Under the mentorship of Jamil Naqsh, a renowned figure in Pakistani art, Pritam developed a profound understanding of miniature painting, embracing the rigorous discipline required to master this form. His relationship with Naqsh, facilitated by the poet Obaidullah Aleem, was transformative, deeply influencing his artistic philosophy and techniques. This mentorship was pivotal in Pritam's development, embedding a deep respect for traditional art forms while fostering a personal style marked by spiritual depth and technical precision. Today, Chitra Pritam's work is a testament to his journey of perseverance and artistic devotion.
